It depends on what kind of blemishes you have. Everything I've described below is non-prescription and can be found in the skincare aisle of any grocery or drug store.

For blackheads and small whiteheads, you'll want to use a product with salicylic acid, which unclogs the pores and removes the dead skin that leads to clogs. Biore makes a good line of products with salicylic acid – I especially like their warming anti-blackhead scrub. Clean and Clear makes a spot treatment gel with salicylic acid, called "Clean and Clear Advantage."

If you have anything that is inflamed (red, painful, either on top of or below the skin), you need a product with benzoyl peroxide to destroy the bacteria causing the infection. My personal favorite is Clean and Clear Persagel. Be careful because benzoyl peroxide is mildly bleaching and can leave spots on your towels and clothes. Let it dry before you touch anything.

I've found that Bye Bye Blemish works really good. You should be able to find it at Walgreens, Walmart or Sally's. But if not, you can order it online.
You use it at night and use a Q-tip to dab some of it on your pimples.
But different things work for different ppl. And most likely, most medications my dry out your skin. So you might want to find a moisturizer that is designed for people with acne, and doesn't clog your pores.
